ELMHURST, Ill. -- Led by first-place finishes from
Sam Mickelson and
Scott Tumilty, five members of the University of St. Francis men's outdoor track & field team recorded Top 10 finishes at the Elmhurst University Twilight Invite on Friday.
Mickelson notched his first-place finish among 16 runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase field with his time of 9:36.34. Tumilty also led the pack in the 100-meter race. His first-place finish among 67 competitors was notched with a time of 10.67 seconds. Tumilty also finished fourth overall in the 200-meter event with a time of 21.96.
USF's next highest finish came from
Jerrico Rodriguez in the 400-meter hurdles. He placed third out of 19 competitors after setting a new personal record at 58.95 seconds.
Rounding out the Top 10 list was
Michael Reif (3rd, 8:47.36) and
Tyler Anderson (5th, 8:50.35) in the 3,000-meter run. Anderson also set a new personal record with his time.

The Saints compete next in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on May 2-3. The meet will be hosted by the Saints at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
