DAVENPORT, Iowa --
Karson Shrum and
Jack Wright headlined the University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team's performance at the St. Ambrose University Finals Week Invite with their respective 10-point finishes in the one mile race and 3000-meter run on Friday.
Shrum and Wright were two of five Fighting Saints and one relay team to score on the day. Shrum registered a second-place one mile run time of 4:30.0, while Wright paced the 3000-meter run with a first-place time of 8:40.4.
Shrum was joined by teammate
Manuel Soto, who also placed in the one mile race. Soto finished fifth at 4:35.3.
Alberto Fernandez Arango competed with Wright in the 3000-meter run, and finished third overall with a time of 8:46.6.
Jerrico Rodriguez,
Ellias Smith,
Jonathan Tavares and
Stephen Sodipe combined to tally three points for the Saints in the 4x400-meter relay. The team placed sixth overall with a time of 3:33.0.
John Hannah III netted the remainder of USF's points in the 60-meter dash, placing eighth overall with a final mark of 6.89 seconds.
St. Francis totaled 42 points on the day to finish fifth among nine scoring teams. St. Ambrose University (Iowa) captured the meet crown with its 143-point total.

The Saints will take off for the winter break before returning to action in five weeks when they travel to Naperville, Ill. to compete in the North Central College Heenan Invite on January 17.
