UPLAND, Ind. -- For the fifth year in a row, the University of St. Francis football team boasted double-digit figures in all-conference recipients after the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League office announced its 2025 postseason honor roll on Thursday afternoon.
Carl Bew headlined a group of 10 Saints amongst the 76 total players recognized for their performances during the 2025 season. Â Of the 10, six made either the first or second team or gained honorable mention status for the first time, while another three moved up a level.
Bew represented USF's special teams on the first team for the first time in his career. The redshirt sophomore served various roles for the Saints during the 2025 season and led the team in no fewer than eight categories highlighted by his eight total touchdowns. He also led the squad in kick return yards (651), rushing yards (373), all-purpose yards (1,182), rushing yards per game (37.3), all-purpose yards per game (118.2), kick return yards per game (29.6), and kick return touchdowns (3) - the last of which placed him first amongst league kick returners and the only league competitor to return multiple kickoffs for a touchdown. Bew's 100-yard kick return on Sept. 20 versus Lawrence Tech (Mich.) also established a new program record by breaking a decade long mark of 93 yards set by Eli Spann in 2015. Bew was named the MSFA's Special Teams Player of the Week three times during the 2025 season.
Joining Bew on the first-team were
Ryan Little,
Matthew Alston and
Anthony Niecikowski on the offensive side of the ball, while
Karsen Hansen was a decorated first-team player on defense.
Little received the first all-conference nod of his career this fall after ranking third in the league with his 15.06 yards-per-catch average. The junior wide receiver caught 52 passes for 783 yards with five resulting in touchdowns. He averaged 78.3 yards per game receiving.
Alston and Niecikowski, both offensive tackles, helped make the Saints the No. 2 rushing team in the league at 165.3 yards per game, while finishing fourth in total offense at 384.6 yards per game. First-time honorees on the first team this season, both players each received second team honors in 2024.
Defensively, Hansen collected a first-team all-conference award by leading the USF defense to a fifth-place league ranking in points per game (29.3), total yards per game (384.0), passing yards per game (246.5), and rushing yards per game (137.5). Individually, he finished fourth in the league in tackles per game (9.1) and fifth amongst league competitors in total sacks (5.5), while placing first on his team in assisted tackles (51) among his 91 stops. The junior linebacker also placed first in total tackle yards for loss (54 yards). His other numbers included 40 solo tackles, one interception, four pass quarterback hurries, and one pass breakup.  Hansen collected second-team honors one year ago.
As for the two members named to the second team, both recipients - defensive back
Nathen Choute and long snapper
Mike Carver - were first-time honorees.
Choute totaled 66 tackles in his ten games while leading the Saints in solo tackles with 42. He ranked second amongst USF players with three interceptions and recorded one pass breakup. His 6.6 tackles per game also ranked him second on the USF charts.
Carver played a big role in USF's kicking and punting success this fall. Â He was perfect on a combined 44 field goal and PAT snaps as well as 47 punt attempts for the Saints during the 2025 season. Â The excellence of Carver's play helped teammate
Adrian Guerrero to rank third amongst MSFA competitors in scoring 61 points through 10 games.
Gaining honorable mention recognition for the first time in their careers were kicker
Adrian Guerrero and defensive back
Michael Hackman, while tight end
Jake Friddle repeated with his second honorable mention selection after collecting his first one from the 2023 season.
In his senior season, Friddle ranked first on the team in yards per catch (15.13), while placing third in receiving yards (363), receiving touchdowns (3), and total catches (24).
Hackman earned his all-conference status after finishing the 2025 season ranked third in the league in interceptions (5) and sixth in pass breakups (7), while being the Saints' leading defender in both categories. Ranking tied for 17th in the league in tackles per game (5.4), Hackman aided the Saints in totaling 54 tackles, which included 33 solo tackles and 21 assisted stops.
Rounding out the honorable mention selections was Guerrero, USF's placekicker and punter, who was recognized as the league's third-best placekicker for the 2025 season. He finished first on the team in scoring while converting all 31 of his PATs, and also making 10 of 13 field goals (long of 46) for a total of 61 points. On kickoffs, he averaged 51.5 yards per kickoffs with eight touchbacks.
As a punter, the redshirt sophomore averaged 36.5 yards per punt with one going for 50-plus yards and 12 landing inside the 20-yard line.
USF went 3-7 overall and 1-4 in league play to finish fifth in the conference.
