Bew Gains AFCA NAIA Second Team All-America Recognition

WACO, Texas -- For the first time in his career, University of St. Francis' Carl Bew has been named a second team selection to the 2025 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NAIA Coaches' All-America Team as an all-purpose player.

Bew was one of four players named as a specialist and one of 27 overall to make the second team.  There was also a 27-member first team.

The redshirt sophomore had a memorable 2025 season, while serving various roles for the Saints.  Bew led the team in no fewer than eight categories highlighted by his eight total touchdowns.  He also led the squad in kick return yards (651), rushing yards (373), all-purpose yards (1,182), rushing yards per game (37.3), all-purpose yards per game (118.2), kick return yards per game (29.6), and kick return touchdowns (3) - the last of which placed him first amongst league kick returners and the only league competitor to return multiple kickoffs for a touchdown.  Bew's 100-yard kick return on Sept. 20 versus Lawrence Tech (Mich.) also established a new program record by breaking a decade long mark of 93 yards set by Eli Spann in 2015.  The feat earned him NAIA Player of the Week accolades.  Bew was also named the MSFA's Special Teams Player of the Week three times during the 2025 season.

USF went 3-7 overall and 1-4 in league play to finish fifth in the conference.
