Fernandez-Arango Receives All-Conference Recognition For Fourth Time

CHICAGO -- One year after being sidelined from a knee injury that kept him from competing during the entire 2024 season, University of St. Francis' Sergio Fernandez-Arango made it a perfect four-for-four when he was named to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer all-conference team for the fourth time in his career on Thursday.

Fernandez-Arango gained second team distinction this past fall after receiving the same honor in 2023.  This time around he earned the accolades by ranking among the top performers on the team in six offensive statistical categories.  The graduate senior led the Saints in goals (5), points (10) and shooting percentage (.278), while ranking second in shot on goal percentage with a .556 average and tying for third in total shots (18) and minutes played (930).  He was 1-for-1 in successful penalty kicks, as well.

In 2021, when he was one of four freshmen to make the first team, Fernandez-Arango produced six goals, four assists, 16 points and one game-winning goal before receiving first team honors again in 2022.

USF went 2-12-1 overall and 2-8 in league play this past fall.
