STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. --
Lindsey Prosperi placed 36th out of 316 bowlers to lead the University of St. Francis women's bowling team to an 18th-place team finish at the 54th Annual Midwest Collegiate Championships on Saturday and Sunday. A total of 42 teams made up the field.
Prosperi authored a 189.0 average, knocking down 945 pins over her five individual games on Saturday morning. Of the five games, two were 200-plus affairs, topped by a 217 effort.
Katelynn Statz,
Haley Tobiasz and
Cassidy Stewart were the only other Saints to finish in the top 50 percent of all competitors. Statz's three 180-plus games to start Saturday allowed her to average 176.4 for the five games total, good enough for 62nd place. Her top performance was a 193.
Tobiasz finished in 141tst place, while averaging a 175.0. Her 216-pin total in the second game was the second-highest showing for St. Francis on the day. Stewart placed 12 spots below Tobiasz, finishing 153rd overall. She averaged 166.5 with a single game-high of 185.
As a team, USF totaled 7,153 pins knocked down between its five team games (4,348) and 16 Baker contests (2,805).
Milligan University earned the team title after knocking down a total of 7,816 pins. Marian University's (Ind.) Paige Richards gained the individual crown by averaging a 212.8 over her five games, which included a tournament-high, single-game score of 268.
