ALLENDALE, Mich. --
Michael Reif topped the list of University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field performers at the Grand Valley State University (Mich.) Holiday Open on Friday, hitting the "B" standard in the 5,000-meter race. He was also one of four Saints to place in the Top 25 of their individual events on the day.
Reif fell 12 seconds shy of the "A" mark, which would have automatically punched his ticket to the NAIA National Championships in March. He placed eleventh in his heat in a time of 14:45.98.
USF's other top performances also came in the 5,000-meter race, where three more Saints placed among the top 25 finishers. Highlighting the trio was
Sam Mickelson, who placed 20th in his heat with a time of 14:57.59. Placing 20th and 23rd, respectively, in a subsequent heat were
Jack Wright (15:22.87) and
Scott Crabb (15:30.19).
