KANSAS CITY, Mo./CHICAGO -- Four members of the University of St. Francis men's cross country team have gained honors for their success both on and off the course this past fall with the announcements of both the NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for 2024.

Claiming the latter recognition were seniors Erik Tejeda and Mikey Corcoran and sophomores Miguel Garcia and Jack Wright.  Tejeda and Garcia were also named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Tejeda, a biochemistry major, earned the league honor for the third time in his career, while Corcoran, Garcia and Wright joined the group for their first time.  Corcoran will earn his Bachelor's degree in Marketing this spring, Garcia is studying Psychology and Wright is majoring in Biology.

Tejeda and Garcia were also recognized as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.  Tejeda collected the distinction for the third time, while Garcia claimed his first.

To be nominated for the CCAC award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

In order to receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete status, nominees must be a sophomore or above in academic standing, must have been in attendance at the nominating institution for one full academic year and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher at the time of the nomination deadline.
