Omar Paramo set a new school record and
Michael Reif hit the "B" standard mark to highlight the University of St. Francis men's outdoor track & field performers at the Washington University (Mo.) Distance Carnival on Friday night. Both individuals competed in the 10,000 meter run.
Paramo placed second among 86 runners in the event with a time of 29:44.58. He finished less than three-tenths of a second behind winner
Henry Mason of University of Chicago, who crossed the tape at 29:44.34.
Besides establishing the new school record, Paramo also hit the "A" standard mark to qualify for the NAIA National Championships.
Reif, meanwhile, used a 36th place finish and a time of 31:15.70 to gain the "B" mark.
In the 5,000 meter run,
Carlos Martinez recorded USF's top time at 15:04.39. That placed his 38th in a field of 174.
