Omar Paramo posted the top time in the 3,000 meter race and
Caleb Bolus placed eighth to headline University of St. Francis' second day of activities at the 2022 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday. Their efforts in the preliminaries earned each of them a spot in Saturday's finals.
Less than one second separated the top eight individuals in the 3,000 meter race, which was broken up into two heats. Paramo claimed the top spot with his time of 8:29.21, while Bolus was less than six tenths of one second behind at 8:29.80.
Also competing for the Saints on Friday were
Kaizer Giddie and
Elihu Young. Giddie placed 15th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.06 seconds, while Young was 17th in the 600 meter run. He finished in 1:21.89.
Fifteen champions will be crowned on Saturday, the final day of the 57th annual event.
