CHICAGO --- A total of seven members on the University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team scored Top 5 finishes at the season-opening Chicago State University Windy City Classic on Friday night.
Headlining the pack was
Oscar Tejeda, who captured the 3,000-meter race with his time of 8:41.98. Finishing two spots back was
Michael Reif at 8:49.48.
Fourth-place finishes were recorded by both
Pedro Ocampo and
Adrien Manning. Ocampo completed the mile in 4:20.55, while Manning needed just 22.67 seconds to finish the 200-meter dash. Also placing in the latter event was
Daasebre Appah-Dankyi, who was just behind Manning at 22.69.
USF's other fifth-place efforts were posted by
Olek Clark and
Kendall Burrow. Clark scored his mark in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 8 inches. Burrow recorded a distance of 42 feet, 6.75 inches in the weight throw.
USF returns to action next Friday when it competes in the Grand Valley State University (Mich.) Holiday Open.
