NAPERVILLE, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team recorded seven top three finishes to place in a tie for fourth place at the North Central College Snow Day Invitational on Friday night. The Saints scored in six events total finishing with 63.33 points.
Topping the list of Saint performers was
Olek Clark, who captured the triple jump with his leap of 44 feet, 11.75 inches. Clark was also USF's top performer in the long jump, where he placed third with a distance of 22-3.
Registering runner up finishes for St. Francis were
Kenny Brown,
Kaizer Giddie, and
Daasebre Appah-Dankyi. Brown placed second in the 200 meter dash (22.88 seconds), just ahead of Giddie (23.11), while Giddie was second in the 400 meter dash (50.28). Appah-Dankyi recorded his best showing in the high jump (6-4.25), while also scoring in the 400 meter dash, where he placed eighth (53.27 seconds).
Scoring in the 400 meter event, as well, for the Saints was
Elihu Young, who placed third, just four hundredths of a second behind Giddie at 50.32.
Other scorers included
Jermaine Ross in the long jump (5th, 21-2) and
Jaylen Goolsby in the triple jump (6th, 37-5).
USF's 4x400 meter relay team also joined the scoring mix with its fifth place performance. The team of
Patrick Todd,
Richard Todd,
Anthony Suero, and
Adam Montenegro recorded a time of 3:38.37.
Host North Central captured the six team meet title with its 160.5 total points.
