ANGOLA, Ind. --- Nine members of the University of St. Francis men's indoor track & field team contributed to the team's 46-point scoring total at the Trine University (Ind.) Sean Brady Alumni Invitational on Saturday. That enabled the Saints to place sixth among ten teams competing.
Kaizer Giddie and
Olek Clark led the way with a pair of scoring performances each, including Giddie's first place performance in the 400-meter event. He ran a time of 50.47 seconds. He also placed fifth in the 200 meter dash finishing in 22.78 seconds.
Clark, meanwhile, scored in the triple and long jumps. He placed fifth in the former (44 feet, 4.75 inches) and seventh in the latter events (21-6).
St. Francis also gained a runner up finish from
Davual Bailey in the 60-meter dash (6.96 seconds) and a third place showing from
Elihu Young in the 600 meter event (1:23.70).
Jordan Freese added five points with his fourth place effort in the 1,000 meter run. He registered a time of 2:36.33.
The Saints added a sixth place mark from
Daasebre Appah-Dankyi in the high jump (6-0.75) and a seventh-place effort from
Darius Brown in the 1,000 meter race (2:40.94).
Michael Corcoran was right behind Brown in the 1,000 meter event with his time of 2:42.41, while
Kenny Brown also placed eighth in the 200 meter dash with his 22.96-second finish.
Marian University (Ind.) captured the meet with its 138 total points.
