ADDISON, Ill. -- Fresh off its first-place finish in the Storm Baker Challenge from one week ago, the University of St. Francis men's bowling team finished in 13th place at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Classic on Saturday and Sunday. A total of 68 teams made up the field of competitors.
USF opened with a total of 4,957 pins knocked down following its five team games on Saturday, which included ten 200-plus games. In their 16 total Baker contests on Sunday, the Saints downed 3,260 pins for a combined score that yielded 8,217 pins between the two days.
Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) captured the team title with a score of 8,962. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater took second with an 8,947 score, while Mount Mercy University (Iowa) rounded out the top three with an 8,817-pin total.
Among individual performers,
Jalen Pfaff was USF's top bowler, placing 26th overall among 485 participants. He finished his five games with a total of 1,094 pins knocked down, including high games of 234 and 232.
Teammate
Jacob Gunther also finished in the Top 100, placing 91st overall with a 1,012, including his top game of 216.
Luke Winter of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the individual title with his 1,223-pin total.
