JOLIET, Ill. --
Le'lani Harris authored her tenth consecutive double-digit point game of the season as the University of St. Francis women's basketball team used a strong second half to pull away from Governors State University and come away with a convincing 56-41 victory in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints (18-1, 10-1 CCAC) used a 37.7 percent shooting mark from the field (20-of-53) with six total three-pointers en route to their eighteenth win of the 2025-26 campaign. Jumping out to an early 13-9 lead after the first 10 minutes of play, St. Francis took a slim three-point advantage into the halftime break. A 10-2 burst over a four-minute span to start the third quarter turned a 24-21 USF lead into its first double-digit advantage (33-23) of the night, before the Saints extended their lead to as high as 18 points with 20 seconds remaining in the final frame. The second half was the most decisive with St. Francis putting up 32 points to the guests' 20.
The offensive switch burst into full swing for head coach
John McGinty's club midway through the fourth quarter with the Saints authoring a 13-2 scoring run after going 5-for-7 from the floor (.714) down the stretch with a trio three-pointers in the closing six minutes.
Harris, who scored 10 of her game-high 12 points in the second half, also provided a total of five rebounds and two assists for the game.Â
Coryn Fromm was another offensive key for the Saints with six of her 10 points coming off two treys.Â
Tykara Harrison distributed three assists while
Mia Kennelly led all rebounders with 11 for USF on the day.
Davina Smith led Governors State (11-8, 6-5) with 11 points.
