KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced that University of St. Francis baseball pitcher
Sean Michalak is a 2025 ABCA-Rawlings NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team recipient.
The nine position winners, who were chosen based upon their defensive success, were selected by the NAIA Baseball Coaches Association All-America Committee.
Michalak did not commit an error in 27 chances on the mound this past spring, recording four putouts and 23 assists, one of which led to a double play.
The New Lenox, Ill. native is the fourth player in program history named to the ABCA-Rawlings NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team. The last player to earn the award was
Luke Ketchum (center field) in both 2022 and 2023.
Travis Schoonover (2019) and
Joe Ruge (2013) also secured the honor, as a right fielder and first baseman, respectively.
The recognition was the second of the postseason for Michalak, who was also recognized as an all-league gold glove recipient by the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference earlier this spring.
Michalak is a graduate student working on his Master's in Teaching & Learning. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with certification in Secondary Education this past December.
The Saints finished in a tie for sixth place in the league standings, going 17-15 in conference play and 21-29 overall.
