Harris, Thormeyer Gain CSC Academic All-District Recognition

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- University of St. Francis women's basketball players Le'lani Harris and Laurelei Thormeyer have been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, it has been announced by the CSC organization.  This year marked the second academic all-district selection for Thormeyer, while Harris was honored for the first time.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.  To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and boast no less than a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, while performing at an elite athletic level.  Academic all-district honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.

A Marketing major, Harris is both a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) All-Academic selection.  She has also been named to USF's Dean's List in three of her five semesters at the institution.

A second-team all-conference choice for the first time in her career this past winter, Harris was also selected as the conference Offensive Player of the Week on one occasion during the 2024-25 season.

Appearing in all 33 games with 31 starts, Harris topped the team's chart in total points with 513, while averaging 15.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest.  The rebounding mark also placed her first on the club.

Harris' numbers in steals (46), field goals made (162), free throws made (133), three-point percentage (.352), total rebounds (181) and free throws made per game (4.9) also ranked the junior guard second on the team.

Among conference competitors, Harris finished the season ranked 13th in three-point accuracy and 19th in total rebounds.

Thormeyer, a Business Analytics major, has turned in a perfect 4.00 grade point average in all five of her semesters at St. Francis.  Like Harris, she is a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic selection.

Thormeyer started all 33 games for the Saints during the 2024-25 season, while producing averages of 9.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest.  She secured her first conference postseason award this past winter by being named an honorable mention selection.

Thormeyer ranked 10th in the league with her 3.2 assists-per-game average and 19th with her .339 shooting percentage from beyond the arc.  As a Saint, the junior guard sat second on the team in three-pointers made (62) and assists (106), third in scoring (9.4 ppg) and fourth in steals (41).

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA I, II and III and NAIA.  First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this month.

USF finished 15-5 in conference play and 25-8 overall and advanced to the championship game of the NAIA Opening Round Sioux Center Bracket after defeating Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) 89-79 in the first round.
