Women’s Basketball Hits 20-Win Mark With 29-Point Victory Over Judson

ELGIN, Ill. -- Sparked by a 26-5 advantage on points off turnovers, the University of St. Francis women's basketball team secured its 20th win of the season with its 80-51 victory over Judson University at the Lindner Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints racked up a season-high 14 steals on the day en route to the 29-point triumph with Symone Harrell leading the pack with three thefts.

Harrell was also a key offensive piece for the Saints (20-6, 13-5 CCAC) as she posted a career-high 14 points, while Le'lani Harris and Tykara Harrison each reached double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.  Overall, 12 of USF's 13 players that saw action registered their name in the points column before the contest ended.

The Saints shot 16.8 percentage points higher than their opponent en route to the decisive victory, opening with a 14-for-35 performance (40.0 percent) in the game's first 20 minutes.  For the day, USF shot 44.9 percent (31-of-69) to Judson's 28.1 percent reading (16-of-57).

Harrison netted seven of her 11 points in the opening half, hitting one trey with four free throws at the start.  Harrell handled the back end of the scoring with 10 of her 14 points coming after the intermission.

Brooke Heiman led Judson (6-20, 3-15) in scoring, totaling 18 points.

The Saints had a 10-point advantage on the scoreboard in the game's first ten minutes with a 10-4 scoring run before extending the lead to 19 points (40-21) by halftime.

The game's final twenty minutes never saw USF drop below a 15-point lead, while the scoring margin ballooned to as high as 29 points following a Mariah Pates layup in the contest's final minute.

Like the turnover margin (23-9), the Saints also authored an advantage on the boards, producing a 39-33 difference.  Harrell led the charge with her team-high eight rebounds, while Harris followed by grabbing six boards, while contributing a game-high six assists.
