Harris Nets Career-High 34 Points In Saints’ 91-65 Victory Over Clarke

JOLIET, Ill. -- With the aid of Le'lani Harris' career-best 34-point night, the University of St. Francis women's basketball team was able to stave off Clarke University (Iowa) in a 91-65 non-conference victory on Wednesday evening at the Sullivan Center.  The win gave the Saints their thirteenth victory of the 2025-26 campaign and vaulted their unbeaten streak to an impressive 13-0, while Clarke fell to 5-7 overall.

Head coach John McGinty's club went to its same recipe for success on Wednesday, jumping on top early and never relinquishing the lead.  After claiming an early 13-8 margin five minutes through the first quarter, the Saints ended the frame with an eight-point advantage (24-16) before sinking four straight three-pointers in the first four minutes of the second quarter.  That enabled USF to take its largest lead of the half at 15 points before a late free throw from Clarke marked the score a 43-29 heading into the break.

Not to rest on its first-half laurels, St. Francis extended its lead to as high as 19 points on two separate occasions in the third quarter, the last time coming at 65-46 with 39 seconds remaining.  Solid shooting down the stretch resulting in a 62.5 percent showing (10-of-16) in the fourth quarter, ballooned the Saints' lead to a 20-point margin in the final frame's opening minute – a margin of which the Saints would never dip below before later sealing the victory with a 91-65 final score.

St. Francis finished the game shooting 47.3 percent from the field (35-of-74), keyed by matching 10-of-16 first- and third-quarter marks, which included four treys in six attempts. On the opposite end of the court, the Saints held Clarke to 33.8 percent shooting (22-of-65) on the evening.

Three of USF's players accounted for 61 of the team's 91 points topped by Harris' career-high 34 markers, on 12-of-20 accuracy from the field.  Tykara Harrison followed with her 10th double-digit scoring effort of the season with her 16 points and game-high five assists.

Riley Cwinski authored an 11-point night, while pulling down six boards.

Zoe Kennedy led all Clarke scorers with her 26 points.
