KANSAS CITY, Mo./CHICAGO -- Six members of the University of St. Francis men's cross country team have gained honors for their success both on and off the course this past fall with the announcements of both the NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for 2025.
Claiming the latter recognition were juniors
Miguel Garcia,
Sebastian Kozy,
Alberto Fernandez Arango and
Jack Wright and sophomores
Tyler Anderson and
Alex Aragon. Garcia and Kozy were also named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Garcia, a Psychology major, and Wright, a Biology major, earned the league honor for the second time in their careers, while Kozy, Fernandez Arango, Aragon and Anderson joined the group for their first time. Kozy is working on his Bachelor's degree in Biology, Fernandez Arango is double majoring in Finance and Marketing, Aragon is double majoring in Supply Chain Management and International Business, and Anderson is studying Accounting & Business Analytics.
Garcia and Kozy were also recognized as NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Garcia collected the distinction for the second time, while Kozy claimed his first.
To be nominated for the CCAC award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
In order to receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete status, nominees must be a sophomore or above in academic standing, must have been in attendance at the nominating institution for one full academic year and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher at the time of the nomination deadline.
