CHICAGO -- University of St. Francis women's soccer player
Kelly Flores headlined a group of three Saints that collected All-Conference recognition by claiming the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year award in program history while simultaneously staking claim to the league's Midfielder of the Year award for her performance during the 2025 season.
St. Francis has now received a categorical Player of the Year award a total of seven times, including Flores' Freshman of the Year honors in 2023, as well as in 2022 and 2024 when goalkeeper
Krystal Rodriguez and forward
Ariadne Gonzalez collected the same accolades, respectively. Last season,
Zoe Villont received the program's first Defender of the Year recognition, and in 1999 forward
Theresa Wardell was named the league's Newcomer of the Year.
Flores, along with
Isabel Diez and
Mia Ocana, were honored on Wednesday with all three players being named to the first team. A total of 15 players were named to the first team, while another 15 picked up second team plaudits.
Flores was a key piece to St. Francis' record-breaking 13 victories this fall. Offensively, the senior midfielder delivered a team-leading seven assists and 89 shot attempts to go along with 19 points and six goals, which included three game-winners. Flores finished the season ranked second in the CCAC in total shots on goal (46) as well as total shot attempts, while placing third in assists.
Her other honors at the conference level this season included CCAC Offensive Player of the Week accord on one occasion.
Diez finished atop the team leader board in two offensive statistical categories with her 12 goals and 28 points. She also shared the top spot in game-winning goals with Flores with three from her midfield position, while ranking second on the team in total shot attempts (80) and third in assists (4).
At the conference level, Diez led all players in goals scored, ranked second in points, third in total shots, and fourth in total shots on goal (34).
Ocana finished the season leading the team in shot on goal percentage (.635), while ranking second in four additional offensive categories and third in two others. The former four categories consisted of goals (9), assists (5), points (23) and minutes played (1700), while the latter two categories entailed total shot attempts (52) and total shots on goal (33). The senior also joined four other teammates with one game-winning goal and recorded the first hat-trick of her collegiate career in a 5-1 win over Judson University on Sept. 20.
At the conference level, Ocana's goals, point total, and shots on goal were fifth-best, while her 52 total shot attempts tied her for seventh place. She also was named CCAC Offensive Player of the Week on one occasion during the 2025 season.
USF, which also had three all-conference selections one year ago, finished the 2025 campaign at 13-4-3. At the league level, the Saints went 8-2-2 to place in a tie for fourth among 13 teams.
