Fromm Leads USF To 46-Point Win Over Kentucky Christian

GRAYSON, Ky. -- Led by Coryn Fromm's 22 points, the University of St. Francis women's basketball team grabbed its third victory of the season, beating Kentucky Christian University (Mich.) 104-58 on Saturday afternoon.  Following the win, the Fighting Saints advanced their overall record to 3-0 on the season, while Kentucky Christian dropped to 1-2.

Including Fromm, eleven Saints in total contributed to the scoring column with six of those reaching double figures. Fromm (7-of-12 shooting), - which included six three-pointers - highlighted the attack, while Baylei Johnson (4-of-4) and Tykara Harrison (5-of-8) each chipped in 13 points apiece.  Laurelei Thormeyer contributed another 11 points and Mia Kennelly and Le'lani Harris provided 10 tallies apiece.

Kennelly authored her fifth career double-double with a game-high 11 rebounds, while Symone Harrell and Fromm both collected six boards.  Thormeyer led both teams by dishing out six assists.

Bell Sparks (12 points) and Kelsee Simpson (10) were the only players to score in double figures for Kentucky Christian.

After working the game to an 11-11 tie midway through the first quarter, a 27-9 scoring surge that carried to the middle of the second quarter put the game out of reach as the Saints never fell below a double-digit lead the rest of the afternoon.  St. Francis built a 50-31 advantage at the halftime break and extended its lead to 33 points at the end of the third quarter.  In the fourth quarter, USF eclipsed the 40-point mark with a successful Johnson free throw and extended the lead to as high as 46 points at the end of the game when a steal by Malayah Scott with 24 seconds remaining resulted in a breakaway layup for the final two points in the 104-58 contest.

A season-high 17 steals led to a 21-point swing in points off turnovers for the Saints, who also held a sizable 42-21 advantage on the boards over the Knights.  USF finished the day shooting at .486 overall (36-of-74) and converted 15-of-39 three-point attempts (38.5 percent), while going 17-of-19 on free throws (.895).  Kentucky Christian finished the contest converting just under 40 percent of its shots (21-of-54, .389), while hitting at a 7.7 percent rate from three-point range (1-of-13) and going 15-for-25 at the free-throw line (.600).
