CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --

Scott Crabb and
Miguel Garcia all placed in the Top 25 to lead the University of St. Francis men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Mount Mercy University Seminole Valley Stampede on Saturday morning at Seminole Valley Park.
The Saints were edged out by Kansas Wesleyan via a tie-breaker for the third place spot, with both teams totaling 93 points each. After going head-to-head with the top five finishers of each squad, the Wildcats squeaked by the Saints with a 3-2 score officially giving the Saints with a fourth-place overall finish. No. 19-ranked Aquinas College (Mich.) captured the meet title with 64 points followed by No. 21 Cornerstone University (73 points).
A total of 23 teams competed in the event.
Anderson led the way for St. Francis, placing 4th overall with a time of 24:57.9 on the 8K course. Crabb was eight spots back in 12th place with a time of 25:13.3. Garcia secured the No. 15 slot with his 25:25.8 finish.
USF's other points came from
Alberto Fernandez Arango (28th, 25:44.9) and
Karson Shrum (42nd, 26:09.4).
Aquinas' Juan David Hernandez topped the 259-runner field with his time of 24:35.9.

The Saints will have three weeks of rest before they compete again on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to compete in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas. The meet is slated to begin at 9 am.
