AUSTIN, Tex. --- A Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award distinction and a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average has resulted in University of St. Francis senior defender Zoe Villont being named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NAIA Academic All-America Women's Soccer Second Team.  The CSC made the announcement on Wednesday morning.

A total of 25 individuals garnered the recognition, split up between a 14-member first team and the 11-member second team.  Villont, a Criminal and Social Justice major, was one of eight individuals to boast a perfect grade point average.

A two-time all-league first-team selection, Villont was a key piece to the St. Francis defense this fall as evidenced by her being recognized as the CCAC Defensive Player of the Year.  That unit totaled six shutouts on the season and allowed just nine goals in 11 conference games to rank fifth in the league.  Offensively, she delivered one goal and one assist, while working her way open to deliver 22 shots in total on the season with 12 attempts being on-target (.545).

The award is the fifth such honor for Villont this fall.  She was named a first team all-conference selection, as well as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic Team member last month.  She also earned a spot on the CSC All-District squad along with teammate Alexis Marroquin on Nov. 20.

To be eligible for the CSC recognition, a student-athlete must hold a 3.50-or-higher grade point average and be a starter or important reserve.

St. Francis went 9-6-5 on the season, while placing third overall in the conference with a 6-2-3 record.  The Saints also advanced to the semifinal round of the 2024 CCAC Tournament.
