Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of St. Francis women's soccer team walked away with a 3-1 win over Indiana University South Bend on Tuesday night. It marked the third Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory of the season for the Fighting Saints and upped their overall record to 5-3-3 on the year. In league play, the team remained unbeaten at 3-0-1.
First Half
The Saints' first goal of the match came in the 19th minute on an assisted scoring strike from sophomore
Litzy Flores to forward
Mia Ocana. Graduate senior
Mia Perri was able to provide the assist for USF's second goal, which was scored by midfielder
Andrea Aguirre in the 35th
minute to put the Saints up 2-0. IUSB was able to cut into the St. Francis lead with a goal of its own four minutes later, pushing the ball past USF keeper
Krystal Rodriguez to mark the score at 2-1 going into the halftime break.
Second Half
Play stayed in USF's possession the majority of the second half, but each team held the other scoreless for the first 41 minutes and 26 seconds. Freshman forward
Ariadne Gonzalez finally broke the ice, netting a goal off an assist from Ocana to give the Saints a major advantage on the scoreboard at 3-1 at the 86:27 mark of the match. The lead would prove to be too much for the Titans to overcome and St. Francis would hold claim to the 3-1 victory.

St. Francis returns home to face-off against Olivet Nazarene University (4-4-2, 4-0-0) in a CCAC matchup of the league's only remaining unbeaten teams on Saturday, October 5 at 1 pm at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
