Saints Record Second Straight Shutout With 3-0 Win Over Indiana South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of St. Francis women's soccer team walked away with a 3-0 win over Indiana University South Bend on Saturday morning.  It marked the seventh Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory of the season for the Fighting Saints and upped their overall record to 11-5-1 on the year.  In league play, the team now owns a 7-1-1 mark.

First Half
The Saints' first goal of the match came in the 3rd minute on an assisted scoring strike from junior Carisma Rosales to midfielder Melani Arredondo.  Litzy Flores was able to provide the assist for USF's second goal, which was scored by Rosales in the 16th minute to put the Saints up 2-0.  St. Francis controlled possession the majority of the half while displaying great defense and authored eight shot attempts in the period, while allowing Indiana South Bend (5-9-1, 4-5-0) five offensive chances.

Second Half
Play evened out more in the second half with each team holding the other scoreless for the first 14 minutes and eight seconds.  Ariadne Gonzalez finally broke the ice, netting her 10th goal of the seaon off an assist from Flores to give the Saints a major advantage on the scoreboard at 3-0.  The lead would prove to be too much for the Titans to overcome and St. Francis would hold claim to the 3-0 victory.

In total, USF registered 18 shot attempts with 10 total on-target, while holding IUSB to 10 shots (eight on-target) for the match.  Krystal Rodriguez recorded her second win of the season while recording eight saves in the net for the Saints after logging 90 minutes in the shutout.
