Box Score BELOIT, Wis. ---
Sergio Fernandez-Arango scored one goal and provided an assist on the other University of St. Francis tally to lead the Fighting Saints men's soccer team to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Beloit College on Saturday afternoon.
Both scores came in the second half after Beloit (0-1) had taken a 1-0 lead with just under four minutes remaining in the opening half. USF (1-2) countered right after halftime with Fernandez-Arango's unassisted goal at 50:15.
The Saints' eventual game-winning goal came at 64:46 when
Diego Cortes connected from Fernandez-Arango.
Freshman
Erick Murillo recorded his first collegiate victory in goal, stopping four shots, two in each half. It was also the first win for new head coach
Vince Martinez.
USF outshot Beloit 23-10, including 12-4 on goal. Seven of the latter attempts came in the opening half.
Notes: Fernandez-Arango and Cortes both came off the bench to author their goals … They also produced the most total shots, along with
Rogelio Valles. Fernandez-Arango totaled five shots (four on goal), while Cortes and Valles each had three shots. Starter
Ander Santamarta also recorded three shots … Fernandez-Arango has now been involved in all five goals scored by the Saints thus far this season. He has two goals and three assists … St. Francis is at Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday for a 2 pm kickoff.  Â
