Saints Fall 4-0 to Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. --- Rood Schnaider authored one goal and two assists to lead Spring Arbor University (Mich.) to a 4-0 victory over the University of St. Francis men's soccer team Saturday night.

The Cougars (2-0-1) delivered three of their goals in the opening 25 minutes, scoring first at the 7:36 mark before netting a pair of goals just 78 seconds apart in the 23rd and 24th minutes.   Schnaider provided assists on the first and fourth goals and produced SAU's second goal.

The only goal in the second half came at the 64:15 mark.

After being outshot 10-3 in the first 45 minutes, the Fighting Saints (0-2) held a 9-6 advantage in that category in the closing half.  USF had all four of its shots on goal after the break, where it held a 4-2 advantage over Spring Arbor.

The Saints' four shots on goal came from Anthony Derka and Pablo Rubio Guerra, both of whom had a pair each.

Notes: The shutout was the first one of the season against the Saints … St. Francis makes Stop No. 3 on its season-opening four-match road trip next Saturday when it heads to Wisconsin to face Beloit College.
