Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. --- NAIA No. 1-ranked Southeastern University (Fla.) proved to be too much for the University of St. Francis baseball team as the Fire ran its season-opening winning streak to 22 games with its 15-2 victory on Tuesday afternoon.
Southeastern used an eight-run second inning to put the contest away early.Â
Nate Maliska accounted for half of USF's offense with three of the team's six hits.Â
Luke Ketchum,
Eric Maffie and
Josh Kirnbauer provided the other three hits.
The Saints (5-12) tallied both of their runs in the fourth inning.Â
Hector Carrillo walked with the bases loaded and Maliska followed with a single to centerfield.
Notes: Maliska's RBI was his first at the collegiate level … McGuire had his streak of getting on base snapped at nine games … The Saints head back to Babson Park on Wednesday to face Webber International University at 2 pm.
