JOLIET, Ill. --- A tight contest through the first 45 minutes, Roosevelt University scored five second-half goals, including four in a 14-minute span, to run away with a 6-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over the University of St. Francis men's soccer team Saturday night at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
Oskar Schuster led the way with two goals and one assist for the Lakers (6-5-1, 5-2 CCAC), who had eight different players either score or provide an assist. Roosevelt's final four goals came in the 66th through 80th minutes.
For the contest, the Lakers totaled 39 shots – 27 in the second half – with 18 being on goal. USF managed just five shots with only two being on goal.
Eric Carvajal recorded his third shutout of the season with his two saves, both of which came in the opening half.Â
Erick Murillo had a career-high 12 saves for the Saints, including eight after the break.
Notes: The Saints have been held to just one goal over their last three contests … Roosevelt's 39 total shots, 18 shots on goal and six goals scored were the most allowed by USF this fall … St. Francis' five total shots were a season low, while its two on goal tied a season low … The Saints are at St. Ambrose University on Wednesday for a 6 pm league affair.
