Saints Drop Second Straight 1-0 Decision

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis men's soccer team dropped its second straight 1-0 decision on Saturday afternoon, falling this time to Roosevelt University in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at Morris Field.

In another defensive struggle where the two teams were limited on both their total numbers of shots and shots on goal, Roosevelt (4-3, 3-1 CCAC) was able to find the back of the net one time when Alan Rubio connected with Adam Przytula for the latter's first goal of the season at 31:26.

Five of Roosevelt's six shots on goal came in the opening half as did 11 of its 12 overall shots.  USF, meanwhile, was held to two total shots and only one on goal, both of which were season lows.

Daniel Simon recorded the Saints' only shot on goal on a header attempt that was stopped on a back save in the 79th minute.  That also turned out to be USF's first shot of the match.  Jesus Flores provided the other attempt in the closing seconds off a corner kick.

Carson Heglund recorded four saves in goal for St. Francis (3-4-1, 1-2) with the other stop coming on a back save.

Notes: Over his last three matches, Heglund has lowered his goals-against average from 2.20 to 1.63, having allowed just two goals, while recording eight saves during that time … Simon's shot on goal was his first of the season … USF's previous season lows in total shots and shots on goal were 10 and two, respectively, which came against Viterbo University, Wis. (Aug. 28) … The Saints are back on the road Tuesday (8 pm) when they square off against Governors State University at the Crown Point Sportplex.
