JOLIET, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis men's soccer team will be the first of the school's three teams that use Busey Bank Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium to christen the new FieldTurf surface when it opens up its 2022 season at home against Cleary University (Mich.) on Aug. 21.  The contest will be one of eight matches on the home pitch for the Fighting Saints this fall.

USF will play its other nine regular-season games on the road including the next four after the Cleary contest and six of the next eight away from the Stadium.  That begins with the Viterbo University (Wis.) Tournament on Aug. 27-28 when head coach Dan Cross' club goes up against University of Jamestown (ND) and host Viterbo.  Two more road dates follow at Goshen College, Ind. (Sept. 3) and Marian University, Ind. (Sept. 7).

The Saints then kick off Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play with back-to-back home dates versus Indiana University Northwest (Sept. 17) and Holy Cross College (Sept. 21).  St. Francis' other home league games all fall in the month of October: Calumet College of St. Joseph (Oct. 1), defending CCAC regular-season and tournament champion Olivet Nazarene University (Oct. 5), Trinity Christian College (Oct. 15), Saint Xavier University (Oct. 22) and Judson University (Oct. 25).

USF's CCAC road matches take place at Roosevelt University (Sept. 24), Governors State University (Sept. 27), St. Ambrose University (Oct. 8), Trinity International University (Oct. 11) and Cardinal Stritch University (Oct. 29).

USF finished the 2021 season 7-5-1 in league play and 7-11-1 overall.
