LINCOLN, Ill. --- Fueled by nine different players driving in runs, the University of St. Francis baseball team put up a season high 21 runs in a 21-5 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Lincoln College Friday afternoon.
Noah Kararo led the way at the top of the order going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and another three driven in. All three of his RBIs came in a seven run second inning when he cleared the bases with a triple.Â
Five different Saints were hit by pitches in the inning and seven in all were grazed on the afternoon.Â
USF's other big inning was a nine run seventh when
Jake LaSota,
Josh Kirnbauer, and
Jonathan Wolf all drove in a pair of runs with singles. Wolf also homered in the fifth inning as part of a 3 for 4, 3 run, 3-RBI game for him.
LaSota and Maffie each provided a pair of hits with LaSota driving home three runs and Maffie two.Â
Andrew Hancock (1-1) went the first five innings to notch his first win as a Saint. He struck out six batters against two walks and three hits.Â
Hancock only had trouble in one inning – the third – when Lincoln accounted for four of its five runs. Josh Tarlin's three run home run was the big hit.
Winners of four games in a row, the Saints are now 20-21 overall and 16-6 in league play.
