JOLIET, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis baseball team continued its offensive flurry on Saturday afternoon at Duly Health and Care Field in scoring a pair of wins over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Lincoln College. The Saints blanked Lincoln 10-0 in the opener and completed the three-game weekend sweep of the Lynx with a 12-1 victory in Game 2.
Over the last ten games, nine of which have been wins, the Saints have outscored the opposition 122-25 with no less than eight runs being scored in each of the victories. Head coach
Brian Michalak's club has also won 15 of its last 18 games to climb over the .500 mark overall (22-21) and put the team at 18-6 in league play. Â Â Â Â Â
Jake Vera and
Luke Ketchum had the big hits on the day with Vera authoring a grand slam in the opener and Ketchum driving in six runs on the afternoon, including three on a home run in the nightcap.

Ryan Daly's second shutout of the season, USF's pitching staff allowed just the one run and only 10 hits over the 14 innings played on Saturday.
Game 1: USF 10, Lincoln 0
Daly struck out a season high eight batters against only one walk in notching the shutout. Only once did the Lynx have more than one runner on base – the fifth inning – as the sophomore right hander limited Lincoln to just five hits.
The Saints scored the only run they would need in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by
Eric Maffie.Â
Scott Tumilty added a run scoring single in the third inning as part of a three hit game for him. Between him and his younger brother
Sam Tumilty, the Tumilty borthers accounted for five of USF's nine hits.
The Saints then put the game out of reach in the sixth inning when they scored seven times. Ketchum had a two-run single and Vera followed three batters later with his grand slam to fuel the uprising.
Game 2: USF 12, Lincoln 1
The Saints kept things in over drive in Game 2, scoring in all but the third inning of the seven inning affair.
Ketchum remained hot with three more hits and four runs batted in in four at bats.Â
John McGuire had two RBIs, as well, while
Jonathan Wolf and
Liam Higgins put together two hit games and drove in one run each. The latter two finished the day totaling three hits each with Wolf registering a pair of RBIs.  Â
Kevin Kardas evened out his record on the mound at 2-2 by tossing the first 5 2/3 innings. He allowed just the one run on five hits, while striking out four batters.

The Saints head to Chicago on Tuesday looking to avenge their two losses to Saint Xavier University earlier in the season. First pitch is at 3 pm.
