JOLIET, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's basketball team kept its perfect record at home intact with an 82-65 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Judson University at the Sullivan Center on Saturday afternoon. The Saints are now 8-0 on Pat Quigley Court this winter.
Four double figure scorers keyed the victory, including
Kaeli Ford, who came off the bench to net a career high 15 points. She converted on six of her seven field goal attempts and all three of her free throws to end her day as the Saints' second leading scorer. She also pulled down five rebounds.
Pacing the Saints (15-6, 12-2 CCAC) was
Jordan Pyle, who fell just one rebound short of a double double with her 19 markers and nine rebounds. She was also efficient in her scoring, connecting on eight of her 12 attempts from the field.
Like Ford,
Justene Charlesworth only missed one shot on the afternoon, going 5-for-6, including 4-of-5 from three point range, for 14 total points. She also amassed six caroms in helping USF to a 44-29 rebounding advantage.
The trio combined to go 19-of-25 from the field for a 76 percent reading, which helped the Saints as a whole finish at an even 50 percent (34-of-68). They also held Judson to just a 37.7 percent reading from the field (23-of-61).
Kaylyn Sias-Chaney provided another solid all around effort with her 11 points, five assists, and eight rebounds.Â
Braxtin Mickens contributed eight points, four rebounds, and four assists and
Hannah Swiatek added similar numbers with her seven points, four assists, and three boards.
Judson (4-12, 3-8) scored the first five points of the game, but back-to-back three pointers by
Jorja Bolton and Charlesworth countered that and the Saints never trailed again. The guests did tie the score a pair of times after that, the last knotting coming at 22 all with 6:21 remaining in the second quarter.
The Saints then had five different players string together 12 straight points to put the hosts up 34-22 with just under three minutes remaining before halftime. The advantage would dip below double figures only once after that before getting as high as 29 points early in the closing quarter.
Judson had four of its five starters score at least ten points led by
Ta'Mia Banks' game high 22 points.
