MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- After picking up the first win of the season on Thursday night, the University of St. Francis volleyball team hit the road again on Friday afternoon for the Liz Hossler Labor Day Classic hosted by Bethel University. USF struggled to get anything going in the opening match against the host #25 Bethel, falling 3-0. The Saints then battled tough in the second match, taking the opening two sets from Concordia Ann Arbor, unfortunately, the Cardinals were able to come back to take the next three sets to take down USF 3-2.

The Saints picked up six aces, led by Hannah Pacheco with two.Â

How it happened vs. Concordia Ann Arbor

USF won a tough back and forth opening set by scoring five of the last seven points. Anderson had three kills during the run.

The Saints came out firing again in set two, with Sipple pacing the offense. USF ran away with the set late, scoring the final four points.

Concordia had four runs of four or more points in set three, which was too much for USF to overcome.Â

Again it was two late four-point runs for Concordia in set four that spelled doom for USF.

The Saints kept it tight in set five, but Concordia was able to scratch out the 15-12 win.

Anderson led the offense with over 11 kills.
