JOLIET, Ill --- Getting two goals from Litzy Corona and one from Allison Schaar, the University of St. Francis women's soccer team came up with three big points in a 3-2 win over the Roosevelt University Lakers. With the win, USF moves to 3-1 in the CCAC and 6-1 on the season.
 

Turning Point

• With the score tied at two in the 85th minute, Corona got a breakaway pass from Schaar, and won a one-on-one with the Laker keeper to net the game-winning goal.

• Both teams had opportunities early. USF finally capitalized in the 29th minute when Schaar finished off a pass from Alexis Marroquin with a strong shot across the keepers face inside the right post to make it 1-0 Saints.

• Roosevelt answered coming out of the halftime break, with Meghan Smith taking advantage of an errant USF pass and slipping it past Yadira Estrada to tie the match at one.

• USF came storming back just nine second later off of the kickoff. The kickoff was sent down into the attacking third, where Marroquin led Corona who finished off her tenth goal of the season to give USF a 2-1 lead. 

• The Lakers tied the match once again in the 77th minute. With the ball loose in the box, Lola Arreola was able to sneak the ball just inside the right post.

• The Saints put away the game winner in the 85th minute. Schaar sent a long looping ball down the field, where Corona won a footrace to the ball and beat the Laker keeper in a one-on-one situation for her 11th goal of the season.
