Joliet, Ill. --- Putting the eight-game winning streak on the line, the University of St. Francis volleyball team hit the floor tonight against the Saint Xavier Cougars. In the battle of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) unbeaten, it was the Cougars who got enough offense going to down USF 3-1.

Desiree Anderson recorded her ninth double-double of the season, finishing with ten kills and ten digs.

Kaylie Sipple led USF with 22 assists.

Reigning CCAC Defender of the Week Lauren Stefanski added five total blocks, moving her into the lead nationally with 83.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In a closely fought set one, it was Saint Xavier that was able to get the offense rolling. The Cougars outhit USFÂ .275 to .053 in the set to take it 25-19.

Set two was played very close much like set one. However, the Saints got things going late in the set. Anderson picked up a kill and Stefanski added an ace to give USF a late 23-20 lead. Taylor Connolly finished off the 25-21 set two win with a kill.

The Cougars used a long 14-3 run late in set three to take a 2-1 lead.

The Saints and Cougars exchanged points throughout the fourth set. It wasn't until the Cougars went on a 4-0 run to open a 17-13 lead that a large advantage was gained. USF could not overcome the deficit and the Cougars took set four 25-19.
