St.Louis, MO. --- Extending the winning streak to eight games, the University of St. Francis volleyball team won two matches on Saturday afternoon, moving their overall record to 9-8 on the season. The Saints opened the day defeating Cottey College 3-1, USF then closed the perfect 4-0 weekend defeating the host University of Health Science and Pharmacy 3-0.

Desiree Anderson led the offense with 23 kills and just three errors over the two matches. Anderson also recorded a double-double against Cottey.

Stephanie Woods got going offensively, totaling 16 kills in the two matches.

Kaylie Sippel dished out 29 assists.

Abby Lab recorded a double-double with 13 assists and 13 digs in the match against Cottey.

USF recorded 22 blocks over the two matches, including a season-high 15 against UHSP.

USF and Cottey needed extra points in the opening set. Cottey was able to score the final three points of the set to take it 28-26.

In set two a 6-0 run with Gabby Paelmo serving opened up a large USF lead. The Saints then continued the run, outscoring Cottey 11-1 to close out set two 25-12.

WIth Paelmo serving once again, USF went on an 8-0 run in set three. Lily Robinson had two kills during the run, which extended the Saints lead to 20-13. The Saints went on to close out the set 25-19.

The Saints used a 10-2 run in set four to build up a 21-12 advantage. Hannah Monfre recorded two service aces during the run. USF went on to take set four 25-20 on a Robinson kill.

An early 9-0 run with Anderson serving gave USF a lead. The Saints never gave up the lead in the set from there, cruising to a 25-19 set one win.

The Saints hit .304 in set two, committing just three errors. USF never trailed in the set, scoring four of the final five points to take set two 25-15.

The USF defense helped to force seven UHSP errors in set three, including four during a 10-3 run that allowed the Saints to take set three 25-16.
