JOLIET, Ill. --- Leaning on strong serving and defense, the University of St. Francis volleyball team continued their undefeated run to start Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play tonight with a three-set sweep over Trinity Christian. With the win, the Saints move to 5-0 in CCAC play and are off to the best start in conference play since they went 7-0 to start CCAC play in 2009.

Tied at 19 late in set one, the Saints got the offense going. The closing run started with a Peyton Baird kill. Lauren Stefanski and Deseree Anderson got things going as well, as the Saints scored six of the final seven points to take set one 25-20.

Set one was closely fought throughout. Tied at 19 late in the set USF went on a 6-1 run to take the opener 25-20.

USF hit .242 in the opening set, led by Anderson with six kills.Â

The Saints dominated in every fecit of set two. USF went on a 12-1 run to open up a large lead which they would not relinquish, taking set two 25-12.Â

Seven different players recorded points in the set. Additionally, USF serving helped to force 12 errors.Â

Set three was much of the same. USF Scored eight points before Trinity Christian could get on the board. Stefanski had three kills during the run.

USF closed out the match on an 8-2 run, taking set three 25-14.

Kaylie Sipple recorded her third straight double-double, finishing with 18 assists and 10 digs.
