GOSHEN, Ind. --- Looking to build off of the largest offensive output, the University of St. Francis women's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday night to take on the Maple Leafs of Goshen College. The match was a gritty back and forth affair that the Saints were able to come away with the 1-0 win, behind a 75th minute goal from Alexis Marroquin.

Turning point
-
With the score tied 0-0 the Saints keeper Yadira Estrada intercepted a cross in front of the USF net. She quickly got the ball forward and started a counterattack for the Saints. A few passes later, Allison Schaar lobbed a ball that got all the way through the box, where Marroquin was able to put the finishing touches on the goal just inside the top right corner for the game-winning goal.
How it happened

The first half was a defensive battle on both sides. In total the two sides took just seven shots in the half with three on net.Â
-
Estrada kept the game scoreless early in the second half with a save, keeping a clean sheet for the second time in as many games this season.Â
-
USF broke the scoreless tie in the 75th minute. Schaar made a move to create space on the wing. She then lobbed a pass through the box where Marroquin put the finishing touches on the game-winning goal.
