JOLIET, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's volleyball team made quick work of its first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) match of the season needing just 69 minutes to register a 25-8, 25-16, 25-20 decision over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Tuesday night at the Sullivan Center.
 

Seniors Brooklyn Withey (Lapeer, Mich.) and Lauren Stefanski (Plainfield, Ill.) took care of business at the net with both players registering nine kills and producing two and four blocks, respectively. Stefanski also committed just one attacking error leading to an impressive .533 attack mark.    
 

Katie Szakacs (SR/Munster, Ind.) led the charge defensively with 12 digs and 12 receptions without an error. She also recorded a team-high three service aces. 
 

Hannah Monfre (SO/Franklin, Wis.) was also perfect on ten receptions and totaled five digs.
 

Alexis Engst (JR/Bloomington, Ill.) accounted for 20 of the team's 31 assists.
 

St. Francis (2-2, 1-0 CCAC) jumped on top 8-1 in the first set en route to the easy 25-8 victory, but in both sets two and three, the Saints had to rally from behind. The latter two sets had a combined 14 ties and seven lead changes with head coach Cara Currier's team pulling away late both times.

Trailing 11-9 in the second set, the Saints claimed 16 of the set's final 21 points to win 25-16. In the third set, the deficit got as high as 12-6 before USF went on a closing 19-8 run to finish out the match.
 

The Saints return to action on Feb. 18 hosting Indiana University Northwest at 7 pm at the Sullivan Center.
