LEMONT, Ill. ---
Brandon Brodzinski headlined the University of St. Francis men's golf team's play at the two-day Lewis University Flyer Intercollegiate, which was held at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The senior was the only Saint to card scores in the 70's both days with his 78 and 77 placing him in a tie for 34th place overall out of 108 golfers.
As a team, USF finished 17th with its two-day total of 647 (324-323).
Bellevue University dominated the 19-team event, winning by 22 strokes over both Cedarville University and Roosevelt University. The Bruins registered rounds of 287 and 294 for a two-day score of 581, which was just five strokes over par.
Adding to St. Francis' team score was
John Weis (84-80: 164),
Luke Petrovic (84-81: 165),
Nolan Weis (78-91: 169) and
EJ Charles (88-85: 173).
McKendree University's
Phasin Vichitcharoenpaisarn captured the tournament's individual crown by being the only golfer to shoot below par. He finished one-under-par at 143 (71-72).
