CHICAGO --- A string of four unanswered goals in the second half by Saint Xavier University put an end to the University of St. Francis men's soccer team's season high three match winning streak on Saturday night as the host Cougars came away with a 4-1 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory.
The loss overshadowed
Zakhar Shkidchenko becoming USF's all-time single-season goal scorer with his 20th tally of the campaign 14 minutes into the contest off a feed from
Pablo Rubio Guerra. That advantage stood for the remainder of the first half before Saint Xavier (8-8, 6-5 CCAC) struck for the first of its four second-half goals 2:46 after the intermission.
That 1-1 score held true until the Cougars followed with the first of two goals in a brief 1:43 timespan beginning at 73:31. They would add one more insurance goal at 86:29.Â
Angel Lopez was a part of each of the final three goals for Saint Xavier sandwiching one goal around a pair of assists.
The hosts scored on four of their eight shots on goal, while the Saints (6-9-1, 7-3-1) were held to five shots on goal and eight total shots. Saint Xavier totaled 20 shots split evenly between the first and second halves.

The Saints will look to rebound on Wednesday when they meet Judson in the final regular-season away match up in Elgin. The scheduled start time for the CCAC contest is 1:45 pm.
