Joliet, Ill. --- Playing in a second straight five-set CCAC match, the University of St. Francis volleyball team's comeback came up just short, falling 15-13 in the fifth set to the Indiana University South Bend Titans. 
 

Turning Point

• In the fifth set with the Saints leading 7-6, the Titans went on a 6-1 run to grab a 12-8 lead which they did not relinquish. 
   

Key Stats

• Desiree Anderson added another double-double to her ledger, finishing with 26 kills and 21 digs.

• Kaylie Sippel added a double-double as well, with 41 assists and 13 digs.

• Peyton Baird had a career-high 15 kills while hitting .355.

• USF out-hit IUSB .215 to .211 on the night. 

How it Happened

• IUSB hit .286 and made just three errors in the first set. A 13-2 run erased what was a five point USF lead, as the Titans went on to take set one 25-18.

• The Titans jumped out early in set two with a 9-2 run. USF clawed their way back into it, getting back within three. The Saints could not complete the comeback, however, falling 25-21.

• USF came roaring back in set three. The Saints used an 8-2 run to open up a 19-13 lead, forcing an IUSB timeout. The Titans tied the match at 20, but USF closed on a 5-1 run to take set three 25-21.

•  Set four saw USF use multiple small runs to open up a large advantage. The Saints hit .268 in set four, with 16 kills. USF won set four 25-17 to force a decisive game five

• USF led midway through set five on a Baird kill, but a 6-1 run by IUSB was too much to overcome, as USF fall 15-13 in set five.
