Pamela Ruiz joined the Fighting Saints in July of 2021 as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team to the goalkeepers. The 2025-26 season will mark Ruiz’s fifth year as assistant coach.
At St. Francis, Ruiz assists the program in coordination of practice plans, individual player development, and implementation of game strategies. In 2022, Ruiz helped lead goalkeeper Krystal Rodriguez in becoming the program’s first Chicagoland College Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year.
Prior to joining the Fighting Saints staff, Ruiz spent four seasons (2016-2020) as an assistant high school soccer coach for De La Salle Institute in Chicago, Ill. While as an assistant coach for the Meteors, Ruiz was responsible for assisting in training sessions, evaluating the developmental progress of current players, scheduling games and practices, injury rehabilitation, and oversight of team culture.
