* Begins his first year on the USF coaching staff with the 2020 season and coaches the Saints' tight end position.
* DeCarlo over 40 years of coaching experience, which includes most recently serving the 2019 season as a varsity football assistant at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Ill. He spent the 2018 campaign in the same capacity at Christ the King High School in Chicago, Ill.
* Recognized as the 1993 Reporter Newspaper Football Coach of the Year and was also a Chicago Catholic League Coach of the Year nominee.
* The Evanston, Ill., native spent 2016-17 at Evergreen Park (Ill.) High School as an assistant football coach after holding the assistant football and baseball coaching position at the former Gordon Technical High School (now DePaul College Prep) in Chicago from 2012-15. He served as football head coach and assistant softball coach from 2005-09 at Guerin Prep High School in River Grove, Ill., and was an assistant on the football coaching staff at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., in 2004.
* A 1975 Quincy (Ill.) University graduate, DeCarlo received his bachelor's degree in physical education/health.
* Has coached eight NCAA Division I football student-athletes and five individuals who played professional football.
