Aaron Winfrey joined the Fighting Saints in July of 2024 as an assistant coach for the football team to the corners. The 2024-25 season will mark Winfrey’s first year as assistant coach.
At St. Francis, Winfrey assists the program in coordination of practice plans, individual player development, assisting in training sessions, and implementation of game strategies.
Prior to joining the Fighting Saints staff, Winfrey spent five seasons (2011, 2013-2016) as a student assistant coach for NCAA Division I Oklahoma State University. While as a student coach for the Cowboys, Winfrey assisted in all areas of recruiting and helped facilitate opponent film analysis.
Winfrey continued his coaching career in 2012 as the offensive assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands University. He spent the 2012 season overseeing the scout team defense, and served under the Offensive Coordinator in assisting with the implementation of offensive strategy and tactical skills.
Winfrey graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and management.
