Sean Pierce joined the Fighting Saints in July of 2022 as a graduate assistant coach for the baseball team, and in 2024 was promoted to the title of assistant coach.  The 2025-26 season will mark Pierce’s fourth combined year assisting the program.

At St. Francis, Pierce assists the program in coordination of recruitment assistance, practice plans, individual pitcher development, and implementation of game strategies.

Pierce has helped USF to an overall record of 75-78 (59-32 CCAC) during his three years in assisting the program, while capturing the 2023 & 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championships and 2024 CCAC Tournament title.  He has assisted in guiding the Saints to two NAIA National Tournament appearances (2023, 2024).   Pierce has helped develop three pitchers in obtaining CCAC All-Conference status, the 2024 Pitcher of the Year (Ryan Daly), as well as two CCAC Gold Glove Team pitchers.  In 2023, his pitchers led the CCAC in ERA, WHIP, OBA, and least number of walks in conference action.

Prior to joining the Fighting Saints staff, Pierce spent one season (2021-22) as an assistant baseball coach at NJCAA College of DuPage.  While at COD, Pierce assisted in all aspects of the program and helped guide the Chaparrals to a NJCAA Division III Region IV runner-up finish.

Pierce began his coaching career in 2017 as the head coach and youth pitching instructor for Chicago Select Baseball, where he helped develop tactical skills and mental strategies for baseball players.  In June of 2021, he was promoted to Director of Pitching within the organization, a position he held until August of 2023.  In the summer of 2024, Pierce managed the Highland Panthers in the Northern League.

Pierce was a four-year student-athlete from 2016-2020.  His first two years he attended College of DuPage while completing his Associate of Arts degree in 2018 before spending his final two years at NCAA Division III Millikan University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management in 2020.  In May of 2024, Pierce graduated from University of St. Francis (Ill.) with a Master’s degree in Business Management.
