CHICAGO --
Anthony Panzella's first shutout of the season for University of St. Francis during the seven-day period ending March 29 secured the Tinley Park, Ill. native Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly baseball honors, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.
Panzella authored the second shutout of his St. Francis career to nail down CCAC Pitcher of the Week accord. The fifth-year graduate student did so against Saint Xavier University in a 3-0 victory on Friday.
Panzella struck out six batters without yielding a walk and scattered six hits in the league showdown. He also produced a 0.86 WHIP.
The Saints' 1-3 week left them at 9-9 in conference play and 12-20 overall.
